FAQ's
What equipment is needed?
Any commercial gym or a decently equipped home gym will be great! General equipment needed: rack, adjustable bench, dumbbells, bands or cable machine, barbell and plates. A few exercises can also use a med ball or a yoga or physio ball.
What skill/experience level?
You can come right off the couch having never worked out a day in your life and start Foundations. I literally had this demographic in mind when I wrote it. It's also for those who have taken a break from strength training or are looking to get "back into the gym."
What if I don't know how to do one of the exercises?
All of the exercises in Foundations can be demonstrated in about 30 - 60 seconds. Just type the name of the exercise as it's listed into a YouTube search and any one of the first few videos will show you how to do it. I've personally gone through and viewed all of the videos for all of the exercises and they're mostly the same coaching cues I would give.
What if I can't sucessfully complete a training block?
That's actually great news. It means you should stay in your current or previous training block until you've developed the conditioning to move forward. Why is that good? Because it means your body is still adapting to the workouts you're currently doing and that you will only grow stronger by continuing to stay where you are. It essentially extends the life of your program.
In the past I've been overwhelmed by working out or strength training. How is this going to be any different?
I've included a ton of information in the introduction section for this exact reason. I will completely break down what to expect, some basic terminology, as well as how the program will prgressively become more challenging. All accompanied by charts and examples. Foundations is intended to address any overwhelming or apprehensive feelings about training by informing, educating, and empowering.
